BLOG

Long before I started writing, I was an avid reader.  I vividly remember learning to read as a child, but my clearer memory of that time is the impatience I had in wanting to learn more, more, more!  Simple words like cat and dog and tree weren’t cutting it for me; I wanted to know ALL of the words so that I could escape into a book at my whim.

As an adult, the passion and fervor for reading I had as a child remains. There’s nothing quite like a good book, an afghan, and some cocoa on a cold winter day.  And getting engrossed in a great novel is the cheapest vacation I’ve ever taken.

I’m almost a one-trick pony when it comes to what I read, and it’s ninety-nine percent mystery novels.  A heart-thumping pace, along with unexpected twists and turns of a good who-dunit simply makes my day.  I am always on the lookout for great authors whose stories I can escape into for a little while every night before I go to bed.

Thus the reason for my blog.  In my current profession, I do a lot of driving.  A LOT.  However, I can’t complain, because my travels take me all over scenic New England and New York, so I get to enjoy a beautiful part of the country as well as watch the seasons change.  While being a road warrior, I constantly listen to books that I’ve downloaded onto my ipod.  (I highly recommend Audible.com for any of you who haven’t tried listening to a book).  I’ve had the pleasure of listening to some of the best books ever written while driving around picturesque Maine.  How cool is that?!

So if you’re like me and always on the lookout for some exciting stories, I hope to become a resource for you.  Once a week, I will be giving a mini-review on the most recent book that I’ve read or listened to.  I do not claim to be a book reviewer or a critic, but simply love good books, and would like to share them with you.  If there is a week in which I read a not-so-good-book, then I will dig into my archives and find an oldie-but-goodie.
